TOWSON, Md. – The Shenandoah University volleyball team earned its eighth victory of the season with a 3-2 non-league win over Goucher.
The Hornets (8-7) won the first two sets, 25-22 and 27-25, only to see GC (6-12) win at 23 and 22 to send the match to a decisive fifth set.
Shenandoah then was able to close out the Gophers with a 15-8 triumph in that fifth set.
Freshman Caylin Harris paced the Hornets with 14 kills with Allie Pieper adding 12 and Anna Gallup 11.
Brandi Griffith paced the defensive effort with 28 digs while Rachel Cerretani and Kaitlyn Kelley both had 16.
Cerretani had a match-high 46 assists.
Coach Jaime Terenzi's club is right back at it Thursday night at 7 in a non-league home match against Gallaudet.
