DANVILLE, Va. - The Shenandoah University volleyball team split its final two matches of the Averett Tournament Sunday afternoon at the Grant Center.
Shenandoah (4-1) came back to sweep Hollins 3-0 in the final match of the day after Roanoke swept the Hornets by the same score in the morning match.
SU won at 14, 17 and 22 over Hollins (0-3). RC (5-0) swept SU at 21, 22 and 16.
The tournament is not part of the ODAC schedule and neither match will be counted in the league standings.
In the morning, senior Blake Parkes had nine kills for coach Jaime Terenzi with classmate Allie Pieper adding eight and Rachel Roberts seven.
Jasmine Callahan and Rachel Cerretani combined for 28 assists and Brandi Griffith had a match-high 13 digs.
Pieper and Parkes were again the story against Hollins, chipping in 11 and 10 kills, respectively.
Callahan had 25 assists and 10 digs with Emma Murphy posting 12 digs.
SU is back in action on Tuesday in a 7:30 non-league home match against Penn St. - Altoona.
