Hockey Drops Heartbreaker

WESTMINSTER, Md. - Host McDaniel scored a goal in the final minute to down Shenandoah 1-0 in non-conference field hockey action Tuesday afternoon.

On a second straight corner with approximately 45 seconds to play, Megan Quattrone took a shot from the top of the circle that Hornets keeper Jessica Brown was able to save.

Unfortunately, the rebound kicked directly to Gabrielle Yore at the far post, who deposited the shot into the empty net for the game-winner.

The shot was one of nine that McDaniel (3-0) had on the day; Brown and starting goalkeeper Jenna Rampale split six saves while Alana Meadows added a defensive save for the Hornets (1-1).

The Green Terror also held a 9-6 advantage in penalty corners.

SU continues this road trip with a Saturday non-conference game at York College of Pennsylvania. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
