WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Randolph-Macon scored the game's lone goal to down Shenandoah University 1-0 in ODAC men's soccer action Wednesday afternoon.

The Yellow Jackets (7-2-2, 3-1 ODAC) scored in the opening minute and then made that goal stand up against SU (0-12, 0-4).

Peter Nelson tallied that lone goal as he headed home an Issac Myers service just 43 seconds in.

The Hornets had perhaps their best chance to score midway through the first half when Brian Maye was taken down inside the box on a breakaway, but the center referee waved off the linemen's flag and play continued.

Macon outshot Shenandoah 31-3 and took 18 of the game's 19 corners.

Hornets goalkeeper Keegan Fairchild had 11 saves.

Shenandoah continues this homestand on Saturday with a 2 p.m. ODAC contest versus Hampden-Sydney.
