WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University field hockey team completed its non-league schedule Thursday afternoon with a 3-0 victory over Frostburg State.
Sophomore Morgan Payne gave the Hornets (8-6) all of the production they would need in the 24th minute as she redirected a Katelyn Curtis feed across the crease for the initial goal of the game.
Shenandoah doubled its lead over FSU (5-9) with an Elizabeth Pardo goal in the 46th minute. Following a scramble in front, Pardo, camped just outside the right post, lifted her shot across the goal and into the top left corner of the net.
With four seconds left, Melissa DeiTos scored off of a Taylor Hayes assist to close the book on the day's scoring.
The Hornets outshot the Bobcats, 11-6, and were awarded eight of the game's 11 penalty corners.
SU is off until taking on the other set of ODAC Hornets, Lynchburg College, on the road on Wednesday at 7.
