ASHLAND, Va. - The Shenandoah University field hockey team earned its fourth straight victory Friday night with a 2-0 ODAC win at Randolph-Macon.

Shenandoah (7-5, 3-1 ODAC) pelted R-MC (1-9, 0-4) with a second-most-in-program-history 50 shots in the win.

The Hornets took 24 shots in the opening half and an additional 26 in the second while giving up just eight (four in each half) to the Yellow Jackets.

Of those eight, only one was on cage for senior goalkeeper Jessica Brown to save.

Twenty-six of Shenandoah's 50 shots were on cage as Macon keeper Kelsey Stanley made 22 saves and her defense stopped an additional two shots.

Sophomore Kayla Alderman made all of those stops academic as she knocked home a rebound of a Taylor Little shot in the seventh minute to tally the game-winning goal.

In the 49th minute, Melissa DeiTos scored unassisted to give SU some breathing room.

The 50 shots taken trails only 54 shots taken versus the College of Notre Dame on September 12, 2012.

Shenandoah returns home on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. non-league home game versus Wesley. The non-leaguer is the first of two next week for SU.
