WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Emory and Henry rallied for a 3-2 ODAC volleyball victory over host Shenandoah Saturday afternoon.
After the Wasps (11-8, 3-3 ODAC) won the opening set, 25-19, Shenandoah (9-12, 1-5) put itself one set from victory by winning sets two and three at 17 and 22, respectively.
E&H forced a decisive fifth set with a 25-22 victory in the fourth.
The fifth set required extra points to decide a winner, but in the end the Wasps claimed the victory with a 17-15 win in the set.
Freshman, Emily Cheatwood led the Hornets offensively with 16 kills. Elizabeth Lamont added 14 and Caylin Harris 12.
Rachel Cerretani was the catalyst for SU's offense with 48 of the team's 52 total assists.
Lamont headed Shenandoah's defense with 19 digs. Harris, Cerretani, and Nicole Shannon also contributed 13 each.
The Hornets are back in action Wednesday as they hit the road to Roanoke, Va. to take on Hollins University in an ODAC matchup at 7 p.m.
