WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team hit a minor speed bump on Saturday, falling to Randolph, 10-7, in its first ODAC contest of the season.
Shenandoah (4-3, 0-1 ODAC) entered the game knowing it had a tough task ahead as the undefeated WildCats (6-0, 1-0) came to town.
The first quarter was evenly matched. Randolph struck first, but the Hornets found answers from Tilghman Sanders and Stephen LaTona. SU trailed 3-2 heading into the second.
The second quarter was dominated by the 'Cats. The opponent tacked on four more goals, while Shenandoah struggled offensively. Randolph led 7-3 at halftime.
Sanders and LaTona each scored again in the third, but the WildCats added two more goals as well. As the fourth quarter began, SU trailed 9-5.
The Hornets held Randolph to just one fourth quarter goal, but couldn't score enough to even the game and the 'Cats earned the three-goal victory.
SU looks to bounce back against Marymount on Wednesday in a 7 p.m. non-league contest.
