Marymount Rallies Past Men's Lax

WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Marymount University scored the final three goals Wednesday night to steal an 11-10 non-conference men's lacrosse victory from Shenandoah.

Shenandoah (4-4), thanks to a three-goal run midway through the second quarter, took a lead it would hold until the Saints (4-3) scored the game's final three goals.

The Hornets held two-goal leads on three occasions during this run, the last beginning with Tilghman Sanders' goal off of a Connor Bishop assist with 6:14 remaining.

MU cut it to one, 10-9, on a Max Johnson goal at 4:26 and then tied it when Matthew Ebert fed Matt Justice at 4:10.

The Saints won the ensuing faceoff and following a timeout, got a Bryan McManus tally at 2:38 to provide the final margin of victory.

McManus dodged left from 'x' and beat SU goalkeeper Ben Judy with a low shot from just outside the crease.

Shenandoah won the faceoff following McManus' goal and had three shots at the Marymount cage, but was denied the equalizer.

SU outshot the Saints 30-28 with Marymount owning a 25-22 advantage in groundballs.

The Saints also won 14 of 25 faceoffs.

Judy had 10 saves for the Hornets.

Steven LaTona had three goals and Sanders, Bishop and Ryan Schott all added two.

The Hornets are back in action on Saturday in a 1 p.m. ODAC contest at Hampden-Sydney.
