HAMPDEN-SYDNEY, Va. - Host Hampden-Sydney scored the opening five goals of the game on its way to a 12-6 ODAC men's lacrosse victory over Shenandoah Saturday afternoon.

The Tigers (6-4, 1-1 ODAC) held Shenandoah (4-5, 0-2) off the board for the initial 18:24 of the contest as they jumped out to a 5-0 lead.

Freshman Ryan Schott ended the Hornets scoring drought, tallying unassisted at 11:36 of the second.

That, and a Kyle Savage goal at 9:59, were the only two tallies of the stanza.

H-SC erased all doubt as to an SU comeback, scoring all five goals of the third to take a 9-2 lead into the final 15 minutes of play.

Shenandoah scored the initial two goals of the final period before the Tigers completed the game on a 3-2 run.

Savage paced the visitors with two goals with Stephen LaTona and Tilghman Sanders each adding a goal and an assist.

H-SC outshot the Hornets 43-30, had a 45-22 advantage in groundballs and won 15 of 21 faceoffs.

SU goalie Ben Judy had 12 of his 17 saves in the second and third quarters.

Shenandoah is off until traveling to Guilford next Saturday for a 1 p.m. ODAC contest.
