LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team earned its first ODAC win of the season with a 19-3 victory at Randolph College.
Shenandoah (3-10, 1-4 ODAC) jumped all over the WildCats (2-11, 1-4), scoring the first six goals of the game and leading 9-1 by the time the game was barely 20 minutes old.
Sophomore Annie McCorry, who had a team-high five goals, scored twice during this opening run with classmate Abby Zorrilla and senior Miranda Rudacille also finding the back of the net on two occasions.
After Teagan Stanley tallied on a free position shot at 7:26 for the hosts, SU scored the final four goals of the stanza to take a 13-2 lead into the break.
McCorry and Rudacille had one goal each with Brittany Arndt and Sidney VanTuyl starting the run with goals at 7:11 and 6:09, respectively.
Randolph had the opening goal of the second, at 16:04, with Shenandoah completing the game on a 6-0 run.
McCorry had two goals in this final run with Rudacille registering a goal and an assist.
Shenandoah outshot the 'Cats 31-6, had a 24-9 advantage in groundballs and won 12 of the game's 22 draws.
The Hornets are back in action on Saturday in a 1 p.m. ODAC game versus Virginia Wesleyan.
