WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team celebrated its Senior Day Saturday with a 21-2 blowout ODAC victory over Hollins.
Shenandoah (5-10, 3-4 ODAC) won for the third straight time in the dominating victory over Hollins (0-13, 0-8).
The Hornets scored the first 14 goals of the game, getting to the 10-goal mark by the time the contest was barely 11 minutes old.
Nine different women scored goals in the opening run, including two each from seniors Miranda Rudacille and Evie Gaffney.
Rudacille, the squad's co-leader in goals, had five goals and three assists on the day with Gaffney, normally a defensive player, scoring two goals.
Eleven of the 13 field players for SU scored at least one goal with Rudacille, Gaffney, Jen Northam, Annie McCorry, Abby Zorrilla and Becky Bove all scoring at least twice.
Zorrilla's three goals and two assists for five points backed up Rudacille's effort.
Shenandoah took 36 of the game's 45 shots, had a 14-5 edge in groundballs and won 18 of 24 draws.
The Hornets complete their home schedule on Wednesday night with a 7 p.m. ODAC contest versus Bridgewater. The winner of that game will clinch the sixth and final spot in the ODAC Tournament.
