WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Randolph-Macon kept its ODAC women's lacrosse record perfect on the season with a 16-8 victory over Shenandoah Wednesday afternoon.
Leading 5-4 at halftime, R-MC (6-3, 3-0 ODAC) scored the initial six goals of the second to pull away from Shenandoah (2-9, 0-3).
Sophomore Annie McCorry, who led the Hornets with three goals, snapped the Yellow Jackets scoring streak with a free position goal at 13:40.
Macon answered with three straight tallies in a span of 2:24 to extend its lead out to 14-5 with 8:21 remaining.
Shenandoah then completed the game by scoring three of the final five goals of the contest.
R-MC outshot SU 36-21 and had an 18-8 advantage in draw controls, while the Hornets scooped up 24 of the game's 45 groundballs.
In addition to McCorry's three goals, Jackie Hemler had two and Brittany Arndt, Miranda Rudacille and Sidney VanTuyl one each.
Brittany Bain had 14 saves, nine in the first half, in the losing effort.
Shenandoah is back in action on Saturday in a noon contest at Roanoke.
