York Rallies Past Hockey

YORK, Pa. - Visiting York (Pa.) scored the final three goals of the game Saturday to steal a 3-2 non-league field hockey overtime victory over Shenandoah.

Shenandoah (2-2) scored the opening two goals of the game as Morgan Payne and Sarah Reed tallied just 30 seconds apart in the 14th minute, but the Spartans (4-0) had an answer.

YCP got on the board in the 17th minute on an Autumn Mallory goal before tying it thanks to a penalty stroke at 55:48.

On the stroke, Sydney LaMarsh beat Hornets goalkeeper Jessica Brown with a hip-high shot just to Brown's left.

York (Pa.) had all three shots in the sudden-victory overtime, with Brown stuffing the first two attempts before Lindsay Nye knocked home a rebound of a Mallory shot.

YCP outshot SU 33-12 and had a 13-4 advantage in penalty corners.

Brown had 15 saves and her defense added an additional six stops.

Megan Stevens and Maddie Price had assists on the Shenandoah goals.

SU is on the road on Tuesday at Dickinson.
