WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Shenandoah University volleyball team swept its two matches Saturday at the Catholic University of America Tournament.
Shenandoah (4-5) opened with a 3-0 victory over Pitt-Greensburg before topping Wesley 3-1 in the tournament final.
The 14,18 and 20 victory over Pitt-Greensburg also was victory No. 100 for coach Jaime Terenzi as the Hornets head coach.
Junior Elizabeth Lamont, who was named to the All-Tournament team, paced SU in the win with 16 kills. Caylin Harris added eight and Kaitlyn Kelley six to back up Lamont.
Rachel Cerretani and Jasmine Callahan had 23 and 14 assists, respectively.
Nicole Shannon and Harris both had 17 digs to lead the defense.
Against Wesley, the Hornets won at 18 and 17 in the opening two sets before Wesley was a 25-22 victor in the third.
SU clinched the match with a 25-11 blowout win in the fourth.
Kelley had 12 kills, Lamont and Rachel Roberts nine each as Shenandoah finished off the 3-1 weekend.
Callahan had 17 assists and Cerretani 15.
Defensively, Shannon had 24 digs.
Terenzi's club opens its home slate on Tuesday with a 7 p.m. non-league match against Goucher.
