Mustangs Rally Past Hockey

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - Host Stevenson University rallied for a 2-1 non-league field hockey victory over Shenandoah Saturday evening.

Senior Taylor Little gave Shenandoah (2-4) the early lead with an unassisted goal, but Stevenson (2-3) had an answer.

The Mustangs tied the game two minutes after Little's goal on a penalty stroke, and then scored the lone goal of the second half to secure the win.

Stevenson outshot SU 13-8, with the Hornets taking four shots in each half. The Mustangs also had nine of the game's 15 penalty corners.

Shenandoah goalkeeper Jessica Brown had three saves.

The Hornets have one final non-league tune-up, on Tuesday at St. Mary's of Maryland, before opening ODAC play on Saturday, September 24 at Washington and Lee.
