WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Goucher College maintained the strong start to its men's soccer season with 3-2 non-league victory over Shenandoah Saturday evening.
The two teams battled back-and-forth all evening with Goucher (4-1-2) coming out on top thanks to a Drew Phillips goal in the 83rd minute.
Tylor Strozeski knotted the game at 1-1 for the Hornets (0-5) with his goal at 34:57 while Thomas Delahaye brought the contest back to level at 2-2 with his unassisted goal at 62:04.
Nick Strait had the assist on Strozeski's tally.
Matt Sweeney had six saves for the hosts.
The Gophers outshot SU 14-9 and had a 9-1 advantage in corner kicks.
Shenandoah continues this homestand on Wednesday night with a 7 p.m. game vs PSU-Harrisburg.
