Generals Shut Out Hockey

LEXINGTON, Va. – Host Washington and Lee took advantage of two penalty stroke opportunities to key a 9-0 ODAC field hockey victory over Shenandoah Saturday afternoon.

The Generals (5-3, 1-0 ODAC) scored on those two first half stroke opportunities exactly 15 minutes apart to help take a commanding, 5-0, halftime lead over the Hornets (3-5, 0-1).

W&L kept up the pressure in the second half, scoring four more times to secure the win in the conference opener for both schools.

Hornets goalkeepers Jessica Brown and Jenna Rampale combined to make eight saves with Brown making five in the first half and Rampale three in the second.
