WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Randolph-Macon College kept its perfect ODAC volleyball record intact Tuesday evening with a 3-0 sweep over Shenandoah.
The defending ODAC champion Yellow Jackets (11-4, 5-0 ODAC) won the first two sets at 11 and 14 only to find themselves in a fight with Shenandoah (7-9, 1-4) in the third.
The Hornets battled R-MC close throughout the final set and were serving for the set at 24-23, but saw the 'Jackets take the serve back thanks to an SU attack error.
The visitors then closed out the match by getting the penultimate and final points on an attack error and a kill, respectively.
Annalee Garcia and Elizabeth Lamont led the Hornets offensively with five kills apiece while Lamont had 13 digs.
Senior Rachel Cerretani contributed 12 of Shenandoah's 21 assists.
Shenandoah continues this homestand with a 7 p.m. non-league match versus Catholic Thursday evening.
