FREDERICK, Md. - Host Hood College scored the game's first three goals on its way to a 4-1 non-league men's soccer victory over Shenandoah Wednesday afternoon.
The Blazers (3-0) scored in the 22nd and 32nd minutes to take a 2-0 lead over SU (0-2) into the halftime break.
A goal in the 64th minute put Hood up by three before Thomas Delahaye tallied unassisted in the 68th minute to put the Hornets on the board.
Unfortunately for the visitors, Hood answered back 74 seconds later to provide the final margin of victory.
The Blazers outshot Shenandoah 19-7 and had an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Matt Sweeney had five saves in the losing effort.
SU opens up its home slate on Saturday with a 2 p.m. non-league contest against Penn St. - Altoona.
