WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Shenandoah University volleyball team began its busy week by dropping a 3-0 non-league decision at Catholic University of America Tuesday evening.
The Cardinals (14-14) won at 15, 19 and 16 over the Hornets (6-16).
CUA hit a match-high .367 in the third set, registering 20 kills against just two errors in 49 attempts.
Madison Inzunza had a team-high nine kills for the Hornets with Kaitlyn Kelley and Emily Cheatwood adding four each.
Emily Veach had 13 assists and Megan Hillyard 12.
Defensively, four women: Inzunza, Kelley, Hillyard and Nicole Shannon, had double-digit digs. Shannon led this quartet with 23.
Cheatwood and Inzunza each had four blocks assisted.
Shenandoah plays the first of three straight home matches Wednesday night with a 7 p.m. ODAC match versus Eastern Mennonite. The contest is also the squad's annual Dig Pink event.
