WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Lynchburg College jumped out to a big lead Wednesday evening in a 24-10 ODAC men's lacrosse win over Shenandoah.
Lynchburg (6-5, 3-2 ODAC) scored the initial 10 goals of the game and never looked back versus Shenandoah (7-4, 2-2).
Michael Brooks broke LC's scoring string with an unassisted goal at 3:41 of the second, but SU would get no closer.
Lynchburg answered with a six-goal run, scoring twice in the final two minutes of the first half, to open up a 16-1 lead by the 12:16 mark of the third.
Ryan Schott, Jeff Goss and Connor Bishop tallied three straight for the hosts midway through the third before LC answered with a four-goal run that ended with the initial goal of the fourth quarter.
Shenandoah outscored its fellow Hornets 6-5 in the final stanza with Schott and Stephen LaTona each scoring two goals.
Lynchburg outshot SU 53-29, had a 36-26 advantage in groundballs and won 22 of 38 faceoffs.
Ben Judy had 12 saves in 41:18 of action.
Shenandoah takes to the road Saturday for a 1 p.m. ODAC contest at Virginia Wesleyan.
