WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Stevenson University scored a goal two minutes into double overtime Saturday to earn a 3-2 non-league field hockey victory over Shenandoah.

Noel Martin scored unassisted at 87:15 to push the Mustangs (4-1) past SU (3-3).

The goal, scored in sudden victory time, capped a rally by the visitors.

After Stevenson scored the opening goal of the game in the sixth minute, Shenandoah answered with goals in the 12^th and 20^th minutes to take a 2-1 lead into the half.

SU held that lead until the Mustangs brought the game back to even with an unassisted goal in the 52^nd minute.

Megan Stevens had the Hornets first goal, off of a Taylor Hayes assist at 11:32, before setting up Daphne Leighty with the go-ahead goal at 19:07.

Stevenson held a 15-13 advantage in shots while the Hornets took eight of the game's 11 corners.

Isabella Morande had seven saves in 52:15 of action in relief of Jenna Rampale.

SU continues this homestand on Wednesday with a 4 p.m. non-league contest versus St. Mary's of Maryland.
