EMORY, Va. – Host Emory and Henry completed a season sweep of the Shenandoah University women's basketball team with a 67-46 ODAC victory Saturday afternoon.

The Wasps (12-5, 5-3 ODAC) scored six of the game's initial eight points to take a lead they would not relinquish over SU (7-10, 3-5).

After Jordan Sondrol brought the Hornets to within one, 6-5, on a 3-pointer at the 3:49 mark of the first, E&H answered with the game's next eight points to retake control.

This run eventually grew to a 21-8 spurt, bridging the end of the first quarter and gave the hosts a 14-point advantage 3:34 into the second.

Shenandoah would battle back, eventually cutting the deficit to six following a Kirstyn Arcata 3-pointer with 2:26 remaining in the second, but could get no closer.

E&H scored 14 of the 21 third quarter points and held at least a 13-point lead the remainder of the contest.

Sondrol paced SU with a game-high 22 points – the sophomore was 8-of-16 from the field, including 5-of-6 from behind the three-point arc and 1-of-2 from the line.

Shenandoah shot 36 percent (17-of-47) to 39 percent (26-of-67) for the Wasps. Emory and Henry also had a 39-36 advantage on the glass and scored 26 points off of 23 Hornets turnovers.

The women continue this five-game road trip with a 7 p.m. ODAC contest Tuesday at Randolph-Macon.
