WINCHESTER, Va. - Visiting Lynchburg erased a double-digit deficit late in the second half to steal a 98-95 ODAC men's basketball victory over Shenandoah Saturday afternoon at the James R. Wilkins, Jr. Athletics & Events Center.

Shenandoah (8-15, 3-11 ODAC) led by 10, 74-64, following a Christopher Chaney layup with 6:15 to play in regulation, but saw Lynchburg (12-11, 6-8) 13-3 down the stretch to force overtime.

LC hit a pair of 3-pointers to start the extra session and held the lead for the remainder of the contest.

SU, which found itself down by six in OT, was able to cut it to one, on a Dominic Steward 3-pointer with three seconds left.

Chance Greene then hit a pair from the line for the visitors to extend the advantage out to three. Following Greene's second free throw, Shenandoah inbounded and got the ball to Jalyn Jarrett at midcourt.

Jarrett took two dribbles and launched a 30-footer that just glanced off the rim as time expired.

The Lynchburg comeback capped a contest in which the two teams traded the lead 14 times and were tied on six additonal occasions.

Both teams had double-digit advantages with Shenandoah first taking a 10-point lead with 8:49 to play while Lynchburg led by 11 at the 15:21 mark of the first.

Playing on Senior Day before a Wilkins Center record crowd of 1367, SU had five players score in double-figures and Lynchburg four.

Senior Dominic Steward paced the hosts with 20 points with Christopher Chaney adding 18, Kwa McDonald 16, Alan Dabney 13 and Jonah Meredith 123.

Steward, McDonald and Meredith were all honored prior to the game.

Chaney, a sophomore, had 10 rebounds to post his third straight double-double. It is also his seventh of the season.

Connor Schroeder had 31 points for the visitors.

Shenandoah shot 44 percent (30-of-68) to 48 percent (33-of-69) for Lynchburg.

SU grabbed 46 of the game's 87 rebounds.

Shenandoah takes to the road Wednesday for a 7 p.m. ODAC contest at Eastern Mennonite.
