Frostburg Tops Baseball

WINCHESTER, Va. - No. 14/19 Frostburg State held No. 13/30 Shenandoah University to just six hits in a 7-3 non-league baseball victory Saturday afternoon at chilly Bridgeforth Field.

Greg Schneider (4-0), the current national Pitcher of the Week, struck out nine in five innings of work before turning it over to Mike Livingston for the final 12 outs.

Livingston earned his second save for the Bobcats (11-1) by allowing just two hits and one walk over the final four innings to secure the victory.

Livingston also started a 1-3-5 double play to end the seventh inning and helped preserve a 4-3 lead.

After a scoreless eighth, Shenandoah (8-4) saw FSU score three runs on two hits and two walks (one intentional) to provide the final margin of victory.

The Bobcats scored the game-winning run on a leadoff hit, two walks and three wild pitches in the fourth.

Robert Marcelle and Henry Delavergne were both 2-for-3 for the Hornets with Keegan Woolford driving in two runs. His second RBI came on a double to center in the fifth and cut the deficit to 4-3.

Senior Colin Morse (2-1) took the loss after allowing four runs on five hits and four walks in 5.0 innings of work. He struck out two.

Michael Bugonowicz had five strikeouts in four innings of relief work.

Shenandoah continues non-league play Sunday with a 1 p.m. game versus Gallaudet.
