LEXINGTON, Va. – No. 14 Washington and Lee University scored the initial 11 goals of the game on its way to a 23-2 ODAC women's lacrosse victory over Shenandoah Wednesday afternoon.
Senior Abby Zorrilla broke the string for Shenandoah (7-4, 1-1 ODAC) with her free position goal at 13:52; W&L (6-4, 2-0) answered with the final three goals of the first half to take a 14-1 lead at the break.
The Generals nine of the 10 second half goals with Cassie Arndt scoring unassisted with 13:22 to play.
Maddie Albornoz had seven saves for the Hornets in 47 minutes of action.
Washington and Lee outshot SU 36-7, had a 20-7 and 15-13 advantages in draw controls and groundballs, respectively.
Shenandoah continues this road trip on Friday with a 5 p.m. ODAC contest at Randolph College.
