ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – No. 18/29 Shenandoah University ran its baseball winning streak to 12 games Wednesday afternoon with a 13-5 non-league win at Elizabethtown.

After Elizabethtown (7-13) scored four runs in the first, Shenandoah (22-6) responded with three runs in the second, two in the third and two more in the fourth to take a lead it would not relinquish.

The Hornets broke the game open with five runs in the eighth and one in the ninth.

Coach Kevin Anderson's club had 20 hits on the day with eight of the nine starters getting at least one each.

Luke Nussman and Tristan Baker each went 4-for-5 with Nussman driving in three runs.

Jamie Naill, who finished 3-for-5 with two RBI, and Henry Delavergne (2-for-6) both went deep.

The home runs were the first and second of the season, respectively, for the two men.

Robert Marcelle, Keegan Woolford and Nick Goode joined Delavergne in getting two hits each with Goode and Woolford both driving in two runs.

Marcelle's sacrifice fly to left with one out in the fourth plated Delavergne with what proved to be the game-winning run.

Gerard DePhillips (4-1) pitched the first 5 1/3 and picked up the win. He allowed five runs on 10 hits and two walks against two strikeouts.

Seth Comer earned his first save with 3 2/3 innings of relief. Comer surrendered three hits and walked two but did not allow a run.

Shenandoah returns to ODAC play on Saturday with a noon doubleheader at Hampden-Sydney.
