WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Randolph-Macon College used a big run bridging halftime of Wednesday night's ODAC men's lacrosse contest to fuel a 13-5 win over host Shenandoah.
The Yellow Jackets (8-7, 3-4 ODAC) scored six straight goals sandwiching the break to turn a 5-3 lead into an 11-3 advantage.
Kyle Morien scored off of a Ryan Schott assist to snap the string for Shenandoah (6-8, 2-5), but the Hornets would come no closer than seven goals the rest of the way.
This goal, which opened the fourth quarter scoring, snapped a 26:16 scoreless drought for SU.
The two teams split four fourth quarter goals.
Macon outshot SU 35-17, won 16-of-21 faceoffs and had a 33-22 advantage in groundballs.
The 'Jackets were also successful on 20-of-21 clears.
Hornets goalkeeper Jason Simpson had six saves.
Shenandoah hosts its Senior Day contest Saturday in a 1 p.m. ODAC contest versus Bridgewater.
