LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's basketball team fell 100-72 Saturday afternoon in an ODAC men's basketball contest at Randolph College.
The WildCats (8-12, 3-8 ODAC) shot 64 percent (41-of-64) from the field to take down the Hornets (5-14, 1-9).
IN BRIEF
Shenandoah and Randolph traded buckets through the first 10 minutes of the game before the 'Cats pulled away with a 13-2 run between the 8:25 and 2:38 marks of the first.
In the first half, the hosts shot 66 percent (21-of-32) from the floor, including 4-of-10 behind the arc to lead 47-31 at the break.
The Hornets struggled to keep up with the WildCats, shooting 37.1 percent, and only hitting on 3-of-14 attempts from beyond the arc.
The WildCats hot hand continued into the second half but was met with a strong defense. The Hornets recorded eight of their 10 steals in the second half. SU scored 15 points off of 16 Randolph turnovers.
Shenandoah made its closest run midway through the second, cutting the deficit to nine points following an Alex Horvath 3-pointer at 14:08.
