WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University field hockey fell 2-1 to No. 20 University of Lynchburg in overtime Saturday evening.
Lynchburg (10-3, 3-0 ODAC) struck first just 6:11 into the game, a Taylor Hayes goal allowed Shenandoah (9-3, 2-1) to tie it up in the fourth.
Shenandoah had a few opportunities in the final stanza to take the game, including a penalty stroke in the 50th minute.
Both teams started the overtime period down a player but it was the visiting Hornets who were able to claim the conference win.

SU 48:13 | Kelsey Jones fed Taylor Hayes on a penalty corner, Hayes hammered home the shot from the left side of the circle.
LYN 62:17 | Alexis Brown dribbled through the Shenandoah defense to win the OT contest for the visitors.
