FREDERICK, Md. – Host Hood College erased a five-point deficit in the final 3:33 Wednesday night to steal a 52-51 non-conference women's basketball victory over Shenandoah.

Leading 49-44 following a
Jordan Sondrol layup with 3:33 to play, Shenandoah (0-2) saw Hood (1-0) score the next four points to cut the deficit to one and put itself in position to win.
IN BRIEF
The Hornets responded with a pair of Sondrol free throws to make it 51-48 with 2:00 left only to see the Blazers answer back with a Mia Savoy 3-pointer to tie it at 51-51.

Shenandoah missed a pair of field goals on its next trip down the floor with the second shot (a Sondrol '3') going out-of-bounds back to Hood.

With three seconds remaining, Savoy drew a foul and hit one of two from the line, making the first, to provide what proved to be the game-winning point.

Shenandoah actually had chance to tie, but missed two free throws with one second remaining.
