WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team ran its winning streak to four games Wednesday evening with a 19-7 non-league victory over Alvernia.
Shenandoah (4-1) dominated from the outset, taking a 9-1 lead after one and 15-2 at the halftime break.
IN BRIEF
All 39 men in uniform saw action in the contest with 13 scoring goals and an additional three registering an assist.
Leading 5-1, the Hornets turned the game into a rout with four goals in the final 68 seconds of the first quarter. Those four goals represented the middle of a 10-0 run that put SU up 12-1 midway through the second.
Playing mostly backups in the second half, Shenandoah saw Alvernia score five of the game's final nine goals.
All three goalkeepers saw action for coach Tim Marshall with Michael Beutel making four stops in the first half and Isaac Graves three saves in the fourth quarter.
