WINCHESTER, Va. - Shenandoah University returned to the .500 mark in women's tennis Wednesday afternoon with a 6-3 non-league victory over Hood College.
Shenandoah (3-3) took advantage of Hood (4-4) having to forfeit at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles to win for the second time in the past three matches.
IN BRIEF
The Hornets and Blazers split the two contested doubles matches, with Emma Crue and Madison Rogers winning 8-7 (7-5) at No. 2 to give SU a 2-1 lead heading into singles.
Hood won in the top two singles flights before Shenandoah clinched it with wins at Nos. 3 through 5.
Crue had the match-clinching victory, rallying for a 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (12-10) win at No. 3. She was also the lone Shenandoah player to win two contested matches on the day.

The Hornets return to ODAC play on Saturday with an 11 a.m. match at Emory and Henry.
