Bittinger Leads Women's Lax Past Quakers

Sophomore Has Six Points in 21-8 Victory

WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's lacrosse team earned its fourth straight win Saturday with a 21-8 ODAC victory over Guilford.

Shenandoah (9-3, 4-0 ODAC) kept its spot atop the league standings with the dominating victory over Guilford (5-6, 0-4).

IN BRIEF

The Quakers scored the game's opening goal, at 25:22, but it was all SU from that point on.

Coach Lindsey Lutz' club tallied the next eight goals of the game in a span of 8:07 to take an 8-1 lead.

GC answered with two straight before Shenandoah but the game away by closing out the first half on a 7-1 run.

Leading 15-4 at the break, SU would see its lead drop back into single digits for just 22 seconds the rest of the way.

Alyson Bittinger led 11 women in the scoring column with three goals and three assists with Kaitlyn Morris adding four goals and both Alexandra Simonson and Emma Stiffler chipping in three goals and one assist.

Nikki Zerna also had a hat trick and Macy Tignor dished out three assists.

Bittinger also had nine draw controls and two groundballs.
