RALEIGH, N.C. – The Shenandoah University women's soccer team opened its 2019 season in dominating fashion Friday evening, taking out N.C. Wesleyan 5-1 in the opening game of the Meredith College Classic.
Abby Alexa had a pair of goals and two assists to lead the Hornets (1-0) to the win over NCWC (0-1).

Yergin now has 49 career goals and 120 career points. She is two goals and 12 points from tying for the all-time lead in both categories.

The win over NC Wesleyan is the program's fifth since 2000 and comes in the first meeting between the two programs since 2011 when both schools were members of the USA South.
