Men's Soccer Wins First

Takes Down St. Vincent 4-1

LATROBE, Pa. – The Shenandoah University men's soccer team earned its first win of the season, and the first win of the Zack MacDougall era, with a 4-1 non-league victory at St. Vincent Sunday afternoon.
 
After a scoreless first half, Shenandoah (1-1) struck for the initial three goals of the second to pull away from the Bearcats (1-1).
 
Both teams scored late, SVC in the 79th minute and SU in the 84th, to close out the day's scoring.
 

IN BRIEF

Chance Hollins put the Hornets on top to stay with a goal from five yards out off of a William Majano assist.
 
Hollins goal came 10 minutes into the second half.
 
Majano tallied the next two goals, converting a penalty kick four minutes after setting up Hollins' goal and then knocking home a second PK in the 72nd minute.
 
After SVU scored that goal at 78:17, Kane Melendez tallied unassisted with 6:30 to play to provide the final margin.
