Men's Soccer Defeats DelVal

Gets First Win at Home

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team earned their first win at home Friday night in a 2-0 non-conference match against Delaware Valley.

Trace Becker scored both goals for the Hornets (4-4) and stout defense held DelVal (3-3-1) to only six shots on the night.

HOW IT HAPPENED

09' | Chase Greene found Trace Becker in the ninth minute with a shot into the lower left corner. 

59' | Braden Gallant corralled a loose ball in the goalie box and passed it off to Becker who burried his shot point-blank. 

MATCH NOTES

  • SU outshot DelVal 17-6

  • Shenandoah keeper, Michael Romero, made one save in his second win of the year. 

  • The two teams split possession but the Hornets spent 57% of the time in their attacking half. 

  • This is the first SU win at home since October 17, 2018
