WINCHESTER, Va. – Visiting Bridgewater College drained nine first half 3-pointers and then had to hold on in a 67-65 ODAC women's basketball victory over Shenandoah University Wednesday evening.

Shenandoah (8-6, 5-3 ODAC) found itself down 16 points, 46-30, at the break as Bridgewater (7-8, 6-2) hit nine of its 11 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes of play.

The Eagles were 6-of-11 (55 percent) from behind the arc in the first quarter to help themselves to a 25-14 lead.

That advantage grew by an additional five points in the second quarter and two more in the third.

Now trailing by 18 points, 61-43, as the fourth quarter dawned, Shenandoah began a comeback that saw the Hornets cut the deficit to just two points, 65-63, following a
Jordan Sondrol 3-pointer with 58 seconds left.

Bridgewater missed its initial shot on the ensuing possession, but Claire Mocarski hit a stickback with 29 seconds remaining to make it 67-63 and effectively sealed the game.

SU turned it over with 10 seconds left and after BC missed a pair from the line,
Ragan Johnson hit a layup at the buzzer to close the book on the evening's scoring.

The Eagles scored 23 points off of 30 Shenandoah turnovers to help offset a 47-36 Hornets advantage on the glass.
