Men's Basketball Clips Eagles' Wings

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's basketball team defeated ODAC rival 103-97 on Wednesday night in the Jimmy V Foundation and Coaches Vs Cancer game. 

The Hornets (6-11, 3-5 ODAC) led the Eagles (6-11, 2-6) for all but 27 second of the game on Wednesday night on the Dave & Kathy Dutton Court. 

IN BREIF

BC struck first with a Chandler Murray 3-pointer but Harry wall answered back with one of his own to tie it up and put in a jumper on the next possession to give Shenandoah the lead for good.

SU led by as many as 13 points at the 5:16 mark in the first half 47-34. 

Freshman center Ethan Diffee put a layup in with eight seconds remaining in the opening stanza, giving Shenandoah a 59-46 advantage heading into the locker rooms. 

The Hornets fended off a Bridgewater comeback in the second half thanks to going 20-of-29 on the stripe. 

An Eagles buzzer-beater three brought BC within six to close out the game.

  • Shenandoah was 28-of-41 from the line for 68.3

  • Zach Garret led the team in scoring with 21 points including 11 from the free throw line 

  • Harry Wall added 16 points and Jalen Hill 12 points
