GREENSBORO, N.C. – Host Guilford College shot an even 50 percent from the field in the first half Saturday afternoon to help fuel an 85-52 ODAC men's basketball victory over Shenandoah University.

The Quakers (13-4, 5-4 ODAC) made 17 of their 34 attempts from the field in the opening 20 minutes of play as they jumped out to a 44-25 advantage.

Guilford did all of their damage in the second 10 minutes of the first half; SU led 16-14 following a
Deondre McNeill dunk at 13:22 only to see its hosts close out the stanza on a 30-9 run.

The Hornets scored five of the initial six points of the second, all by
Zach Garrett, before GC ran away with it by scoring 19 of the game's next 27 points in a span of 5:53.

Guilford's lead reached 35 points on two occasions before
Marcus Taylor scored three of the game's final four points from the charity stripe.

GC also had a 45-31 advantage on the glass which helped it to a 16-7 bulge in second chance points.
