WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's basketball team completed its home slate Saturday with an 80-63 ODAC loss to the University of Lynchburg.

Shenandoah (6-17, 3-11 ODAC) battled its fellow ODAC Hornets tight in the initial 20 minutes of play as the two teams traded the lead 11 times and were tied on an additional five occasions.

Lynchburg (14-10, 9-6) took the lead for good on the final bucket of the first half and entered halftime with a one-point, 38-37, lead.

The Tharon Suggs jumper kickstarted a 14-2 run for the visitors with
Ethan Diffee's fastbreak dunk 2:02 into the second half representing the hosts' lone bucket.

Deondre McNeill and
Harry Wall combined for back-to-back buckets, with Wall making a '3', but Shenandoah would get no closer than six points the rest of the way.

Lynchburg had a 10-0 run midway through the second that extended its lead out to 18 points, 66-48, and basically sealed the win.

SU scored 15 of the game's final 29 points.

Christopher Chaney, who was recognized prior to the senior day contest along with classmates

Chris Oates, had 11 points each to lead the hosts.

Jalen Hill had 10 points off the bench.

Suggs had a game-high 17 for the victors.
