FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – An eight-goal run to start the second half proved to be decisive for host Mary Washington in a 15-14 non-league men's lacrosse victory over Shenandoah University Saturday afternoon.

Shenandoah (1-1) saw the Eagles (1-1) turn a three-goal deficit into a four-goal lead thanks to the big run.

Tyler Held goal with 5:00 remaining in the second, but were then held off the board for the next 22:26 of game time.

The Eagles scored all seven third period goals and initial tally of the fourth before
Jet Hayes scored unassisted for SU at 12:34 of the fourth to stop the bleeding.

Hayes' goal would start an 8-3 Shenandoah run to close out the contest.
