WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University women's basketball team saw its four-game winning streak come to an end Saturday with a 58-52 ODAC home loss to Guilford College.

Guilford (13-8, 9-7 ODAC) gained a measure of revenge with the six-point victory over Shenandoah (15-8, 11-5).

After never having beaten the Quakers in nine lifetime meetings, the Hornets downed GC in the 2019 ODAC Tournament quarterfinals before winning 46-42 on January 18 in the first matchup of the season between the two teams.

Guilford prevented SU from extending the series-winning-streak to three and from the Hornets clinching a first-round bye by outscoring Shenandoah 9-2 from the 2:49 mark of the first to the 7:24 mark of the second.

The second quarter featured just a combined 13 points as the Quakers took a 22-16 lead into the break.

The visitors lead reached as high as 12 points in the fourth quarter before the Hornets began to climb back into the senior day contest.

Jordan Sondrol, who was recognized prior to the game along with classmates
Sarah Donley,
McKenzie Mathis and
Ashley Stone, hit a jumper at 5:17 to begin an 11-2 run over the next 4:14 that cut the Quakers lead to just three, 49-46.

A Sondrol '3', one of two she hit on the day, capped that run and put the Hornets into a one-possession game with 63 seconds remaining.

The two teams traded buckets in the next 30 seconds before Guilford clinched the game by hitting 5-of-6 from the line in the final 26 seconds.

Donley and Mathis sandwiched a
Sierra St. Cyr running layup for the hosts' final six points of the game.

Sondrol led Shenandoah with 16 points and St. Cyr added 10.

Miracle Walters had 20 points for Guilford.
