WINCHESTER, Va. – The Shenandoah University men's lacrosse team opened up its 2020 season with a dominant, 20-8, non-league victory over William Peace Saturday afternoon.

Shenandoah (1-0) outscored the Pacers 7-3 in the opening stanza, led 10-5 at the half and then scored 10 of the final 13 goals of the contest to pull away.

The goals came from four different men:
Logan Clingerman,
Drew Kagdis,
Devon Weaver and
Jay Baker, and gave the Hornets a lead they would not relinquish.

Peace would come no close than three goals the rest of the way.

A six-goal run that bridged halftime put the game away for the hosts. Shenandoah kept WPU off the board from the 9:02 mark of the second until 1:49 remained in the third while extending its lead from three goals to nine.

The Hornets tallied the initial six goals of the fourth before Peace closed the book on the days scoring with a Conor McInerney to Brewer Warlick goal with 3:06 remaining.
