WINCHESTER, Va. – No. 18 Shenandoah University had another offensive explosion in a 19-4 non-league baseball victory over Mount Aloysius Sunday afternoon.

The Hornets (10-1) scored runs in all but two innings and had 16 hits in running away from the Mounties (4-1).

A four-run first, combined with three runs in both the third and fourth, gave Shenandoah all of the offense it would need in winning its 10
th game in 11 outings this season.

Seven of nine starters had at least one hit on the day with
Henry Delavergne leading the way with a 3-for-4 afternoon that included four RBI and two runs scored.

Delavergne had an RBI single in the fourth, a run scoring double in the sixth and a two-run double in the seventh.

Anthony Ward completed that three-spot in the third with his first collegiate home run, a two-run shot to left.

SU extended its lead with one run in the fifth, six in the sixth and five in the seventh.

Junior
Cade Templeton (2-0), the third of six Hornets pitchers on the day, earned the win with an inning and 2/3 of relief work. Templeton allowed one run on two hits and one walk.

Gerard DePhillips,
Seth Comer, and
CJ Morton pitched the seventh, eighth and ninth, respectively, to lock down the win.

Seth Smith took the loss for the Mounties. He gave up four runs (three earned) on just one hit and four walks in 2.0 innings of work. He was replaced four batters into the third.
