Men's Soccer Ties Roanoke

Hornets Draw 1-1 with Maroons

ROANOKE, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team played to a 1-1 double overtime draw at Roanoke College in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference Saturday evening contest.

Jasson Acosta's goal in the 24th minute evened the score for the Hornets (6-5-2, 1-1-2 ODAC) after the Maroons (6-3-3, 1-1-2) struck first. 

The Hornets took two shots during the OT periods but we unable to score on a stout RC defense.

The tie tonight snaps a 10-match losing streak to Roanoke; the Hornets have never beaten the Maroons since joining the league in 2012. 

HOW IT HAPPENED

RC 18' | Anthony Zarlenga scored the opening tally for the hosts, assisted by Isaac Wolf.
SU 24' | Connor Robles found Jasson Acosta for the Hornets lone goal.
