WINCHESTER, Va. – No. 19/35 Shenandoah University rode the long ball Wednesday in a 14-5 ODAC baseball victory over Washington & Lee.

Shenandoah (6-1, 3-0 ODAC) hit four home runs, all of them with men on base, to help overcome seven errors versus the Generals (1-4, 1-4).Â

Anthony Ward had a three-run shot in the first while
Colby Martin,
Pearce Bucher and
Haden Madagan each hit two-run dingers.

Martin, who was named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week on Tuesday, had his in the fourth, Bucher's came in the fifth, and Madagan's in the eighth.

All four home runs sailed over the left field fence.

Freshman
Reilly Owen (1-0) earned the win with five innings of scoreless relief. He struck out five and did not walk a batter while allowing five hits.

Bucher finished the day 3-for-4 with three RBI, Martin 2-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored and Ward 2-for-4 with three runs driven in.

Shortstop
Frankie Ritter also had a pair of RBI.

Matt Whitely (0-1) took the loss for W&L. He allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits and two walks in 4.0 innings of relief. The Generals used five pitchers on the day.
