WINCHESTER, Va. - The Shenandoah University men's soccer team earned its second draw in the past eight days with a 1-1 home ODAC tie versus Randolph.
Shenandoah (0-4-2, 0-3-2 ODAC) scored the game's initial goal on a penalty kick in the 21st minute, but saw Randolph (3-1-1, 3-1-1) net the equalizer two minutes into the second half.
IN BRIEF
Braden Gallant converted the PK for the Hornets, beating WildCats goalkeeper Zach Miles to the far post.
SU was the awarded the PK after Randolph was called for a handball in the box.
After the 'Cats tied it on that goal two minutes into the second, Shenandoah had the two best chances over the remainder of regulation.
Jack Meixner was robbed as Miles was able to just get a hand on his attempt in the 65th minute, and Nikolas Como saw his chip shot over Miles' head bounce just over the crossbar four minutes after Meixner was denied.
Randolph had the only two shots of the 20-minute sudden victory overtime, and Shenandoah keeper Sam Fischer made a diving stop in the 102nd minute that prevented the 'Cats from a comeback victory.
Randolph outshot SU, 10-6, and took nine of the game's 12 corners.
Fischer made three saves.Â
