Volleyball Drops a Pair

SU Loses Twice at Roanoke Tri-Match

SALEM, Va. – Shenandoah University returned to the volleyball court Saturday afternoon by dropping an ODAC tri-match at Roanoke.
 
Shenandoah (3-3, 2-3 ODAC) fell, 3-1, to Bridgewater in its first match of the day before seeing Roanoke sweep the Hornets to complete the afternoon.

MATCH ONE

Freshman Jillian Warter had 23 kills, but it was not enough in a 3-1 loss to Bridgewater.
 
Shenandoah's set victory came in the second, winning 25-16, while Bridgewater (1-3, 1-3) won at 14 in the first, 20 in the third, and 14 in the fourth.
 
Aaliyah Chunn backed up Warter's 23 kills with nine of her own while Ashley Thompson had five kills and 10 digs.
 
Warter's 21 digs led that effort. Jenna McDuff added 15.
 
Megan Hillyard and Brooke Wagner had 22 and 11 assists, respectively.

MATCH TWO

The Maroons (4-2, 4-2) made quick work of SU in that final match, sweeping the Hornets at 15, 14, and 12.
 
Warter was again the story on offense, contributing six kills, with Gabby Coradazzi and Ashley Thompson adding two each.
 
Wagner led SU at the service line with three aces and also had a team-high nine digs to go along with four assists.
 
Hillyard had nine assists.

UP NEXT

Another Saturday tri-match awaits with SU traveling to Lynchburg to take on the host Hornets as well as Emory & Henry on Apr. 10.
